22nd May |
Hello
everyone. I am back from the West Highland Way walk. Except
for Boss Woman's massive blister, Big Guy limping like an
old man and my legs being at least 3" shorter than
they were last week, we are all fine AND WE FINISHED THE
WHOLE OF THE 96 miles WALK. We had the best time ever. Anyway,
I am very tired now and am lying at Boss Woman's feet as
she is writing, so Boss Woman said she will put more stuff
on tomorrow and some pictures as well. Just to say, a very
big THANKYOU to everyone who has sponsored me. I think that
I have raised a lot of money. I am
so glad that Boss Woman is back now. I thought she had abandoned
me. I keep giving her licky kisses to let her know that
I have missed her.

Boss
Woman is just getting all our stuff ready for tomorrow morning
at 5.30 a.m. Then we are OFF on our 96 miles long walk.
Just to say thankyou to all those lovely caring people who
are sponsoring me. All the money will go to helping my doggie
friends in the rescue. Boss Woman got laughed at today in
Asda supermarket. She was buying me some baby socks and
when she told the assistant they were for me, the assistant
laughed her head off and thought it was very funny. Actually
Boss Woman said they were for in case I hurt my paws and
I would have to wear a sock (held on by a rubber band) so
my paws don't get really bad. I don't think I will need
them, but just in case, Big Guy is carrying them in his
rucsack. Ooooooh. I like long walks and I think I will like
this one. Bye, back in 9 days ...

Tuesday
11th May |
On
our walk in Durris Forest yesterday, it was snowing, it
was cold as well. Luckily we were too busy running about
in the heather and in the trees to notice the cold.
I got into trouble again for eating 2 baby newts. I didn't
see what the big deal was anyway ~ they were dead
when I found them.
It is still snowing today. We went into the Forest
and down by the river and I went in for a swim again. I
saw 2 dippers on the river bank. I also heard the first
cuckoo of the year. It was a bit persistent and kept calling
for ages.

5th May |
We
saw our first Swallow today. Boss Woman went to the Supermaket
and bought me some dog food for our long walk next week.
She says there probably won't be any shops to buy dog food
from so they will take it with them. Good. It's nice to
know that I won't be starved for a whole week

Tuesday
4th May |
We
had the best day today. We went to the Forest in Stonehaven,
the one with the river in. I went swimming and retrieving
the sticks that Boss Woman kept throwing in. I really like
water and I love swimming. There were a lot of nice flowers
growing as well. Primroses, Wood Anemones and Gorse. The
Gorse was nasty and prickly but it had a lovely smell just
like coconut. I went paddling in the
river as well but I can't swim so I didn't go in deep. Me
and Polly got into trouble. Boss Woman shouted at us because
we ran off into the river and didn't wait for her to catch
up. She can be sooo narky sometimes. It's not our
fault that she is such a slow walker, she should learn to
keep up with us.

22nd April |
Boss
Woman had to take her car to the garage for it's MOT today
so she walked us down on the Inverbervie coast path. A HUGE
black hairy stinky dog came running up to me, bit me on
my side and ran away. It's stupid owner just smiled and
carried on walking. Now if I had done that to her dog, would
she have smiled? Luckily Boss Woman
had put me on lead, otherwise I would have bitten it back
if it had done that to me. A Jack Russell x Whippet dog
called Buddy had a sniffy sniffy with me, which I didn't
mind. I did growl at it him though when he tried to jump
on my back. There did seem to be a lot of stupid owners,
with untrained dogs out this morning.

Me
and Amber caught a Pheasant down the fields yesterday and
do you know what? Boss Woman made us leave it. Sigh ...
I was really looking forward to having it for my dinner
and then Boss Woman picks it up and lets it go. She wouldn't
even let us chase after it again. A bit mean, I think. Anyway,
I am now REALLY famous. I am in our local paper (Mearns
Leader) this week, I was on the radio last Saturday, I am
now in the K9
magazine AND I am going to be in the Wisbech
newspaper tomorrow. In fact, I am so famous, that if
you send me £1 sponsorship, I will send you my autograph
(pawograph). What
I don't understand is when we catch a rabbit, Boss Woman
takes it back home and cooks it for us, yet when we catch
a Pheasant, she lets the stupid thing go? All we had to
show for all that chasing and catching it, was a moutfhul
of feathers each.

Saturday
17th April |
Me and Boss Woman were on the local radio this morning.
Boss Woman was talking about when we walk the West Highland
Way in 4 weeks time and asking people to sponsor us. We
had some trouble though. When Boss Woman was talking with
Nigel on the radio about me being a Therapet at the Old
Folks Home, about animal rescues (and donkey rescues) and
cruelty to animals, well someone came through the door.
I liked the look of him so I ran towards him to give him
BIG licky kisses. HOW was I supposed to know that Boss Woman
was sat on a chair with castors, that she had the lead around
her leg, that she was wired up to the microphone and earphones
and that the whole lot would fall on the floor when I lunged
forwards? Nigel was not at all impressed when Boss Woman
shouted HELP and started laughing, live on air. Poor Nigel
looked in a bit of state and he got confused and started
talking about taking Donkeys into the olds Folks Home as
Therapets!!?? Well, that's a pity, because I like Nigel
and I was sorry he looked so upset. As we were leaving,
he was muttering something about never working with animals
again. Well, if I had gone, I would
have behaved myself. Donkeys into Old Folks Homes? Wouldn't
they poo on the floor?

16th April |
Hello
everyone. Boss Woman hasn't been able to write my blog for
a long time because the Server people for the computer made
a mess of it and she couldn't upload the writing. Anyway,
here I am now. It is really exciting this week because Boss
Woman is finalising the long walk ~ The West Highland Way
~ we are doing in May. We are all looking forward to it,
me especially, as I like long walks in strange places. I
had my picture taken yesterday for the local newspaper and
I am going to be in it next Friday, so everyone will know
what we are doing and maybe sponsor me. It's a lovely warm
day today and soon we are going down the fields and go in
the Burn, which I like a lot. It's
not fair. I can't go on the walk. Boss Woman said my little
legs will be too tired walking all that way, every day AND
she says when they stay in the Bed and Breakfast that I
might chew things when she is not there. I don't see why
Polly should get all the nice things happening to her and
yet I have to be left at home. I like walking and anyway,
I don't chew THAT much.

22nd March |
Ted
(the Ned) went down the fields with us today. He has now
passed his puppy obedience test, Boss Woman thinks he is
a very clever boy. She says he still needs to learn to walk
on lead properly and to COME BACK when he chases things
in the field, but she gave him 2 extra gravy bones for being
so clever. Mmmm. I think he is still an annoying little
twonk though. He will not stop jumping all over me. Doesn't
he know I just want to go sniffing about in the field and
don't want him pestering me to play with him? We chased
2 Pheasants today, me and Amber came back when we were called,
but Ted just carried on running ...... I
am on a starvation diet until tomorrow lunchtime, because
I was a bit poorly again. Boss Woman said it is because
I INSIST on eating nasty things from the floor and I really
ought to know better. Help, I am starving and she
has no sympathy ......
Hello, it's me, Ted.... Polly said
I could just say a few words on her blog, so I will. I like
running down the fields with Polly and Amber. They are not
very keen on playing fighting and jumping all the time,
in fact they think I am annoying, but I think they forget
that I am just a puppy and want to play all the time. We
had the best time today ~ me and Polly went in the Burn
and had a great time splashing about in the water, fetching
the sticks back that Boss Woman kept throwing for us. I
really like going in the water and so does Polly. Boss Woman
only walks me a few times a week, for my own Boss Man. I
must say, she IS a bit bossy but I do like the chewy hide
sticks or the gravy bones she always gives me when she takes
me back to my kennel.

17th March |
It's
Boss Woman's birthday today. Happy birthday to youuuuuuuu.
Me and Amber gave her the usual big licky kisses when she
woke up this morning. Big Guy and Boss Woman went to see
Cesar Millan on Sunday, luckily for me and Amber she has
not tried any of his methods on us yet.

Tuesday
9th March |
Went
on the coast path down at Inverbervie today. There were
2 stupid women walking their BIG dirty hairy dogs. Their
dogs were bouncing about on the lead trying to get to me
and Amber to fight with us and the women had to wait at
the side of the path until we had gone past. Me and Amber
just walked past them on the lead, all calm like Boss Woman
told us to. One of the women was glaring at Boss Woman and
commenting loudly to her friend how Staffies are vicious
dogs and to keep away from them. Mmm. That WAS funny, considering
it was HER dogs that were uncontrollable and jumping about
so she could hardly keep hold of them. Boss Woman said to
just ignore them and it was a pity that their dogs were
not as well trained or as well behaved as me and Amber.
A really nice man asked me and Polly
to sit and then he gave us a gravy bone biscuit and told
us what good girls we were. Minced Venison for dinner, which
I like a lot.

8th March |
What
a cheek! A pheasant was strutting round MY garden this morning.
I soon chased him off .... Boss Woman walked us on Stonehaven
Beach today. She bought herself a bag of chips and shared
them with us. Very tasty they were as well, although Boss
Woman said that we aren't supposed to eat potatoes, but
I don't think a few chips can do us any harm. Then we walked
up Bervie Braes where all the landslips have fallen down
and blocked some of the road. There were a lot of red and
white signs saying DANGER, KEEP OUT. Boss Woman just ignored
them all and took us up anyway. She said we needed to walk
a long way on the road to wear our nails down and that the
road would be quiet because it was now blocked to traffic.
Boss Woman took Gnipper
the cat to the vet this morning, because Gnipper has been
losing some of her fur. The vet said it's because she is
very old and he gave her 2 jabs in her neck. Well, the cat
got her own back because she bit the vet on the hand. The
cat is very grumpy though ~ she is always chasing me and
Polly round the garden and if we go near her and she hits
us with her paw. Boss Woman and Big Guy are going to see
the 'Dog Whisperer' Cesar Milan on Sunday down in Glasgow.
I hope she doesn't come back with any ideas to practise
on me and Polly.

Saturday
20th February |
In
the Forest yesterday it was snowing MASSIVE snowflakes.
Me and Amber loved it and we really liked trying to catch
the snowballs that Boss Woman kept throwing AT us. I do
wish Boss Woman wouldn't laugh when she throws them at us
though. You would think that she was trying to hit us with
them on purpose. She didn't laugh so much though when she
slipped on the snow and fell down. It was okay though, I
gave her big licky kisses all over her face, which she didn't
seem to appreciate. She is so clumsy, she really ought to
watch where she is walking and she shouldn't get so narky
when me and Amber try to make her feel better by giving
her big licky kisses. She is soooo ungrateful.
Today, I don't feel very well at all and I have been sick
twice. I just want to lie behind the patio door in the sun
and keep warm and sleep. Boss Woman said my eyes are all
red as well and that I can't have any dinner or anything
to eat today at all until tomorrow morning. I don't care,
I don't feel hungry anyway. Boss Woman
thinks that Polly was eating something in the Forest yesterday
that she shouldn't have done. I always do that as well.
Me and Polly would just like to wish James (he is really
my Boss Man) a very happy birthday for Thursday 18th February.
We gave him big licky kisses so that was our present. He
is going to have a party tonight, but he didn't invite us.

Sunday
14th February |
Down the fields today we saw : 4 hares, 4 deer, 2 swans,
2 oyster catchers and LOADS of ducks. I
chased the hares but I couldn't catch them.

13th February |
Boss
Woman drove us down to near Dundee yesterday, to collect
Izzy and Lizzy ~ 2 canaries. She decided not to get some
goats because they take a lot of looking after, but got
canaries instead from the SSPCA. Well, Izzy canary is soooooo
noisy. It makes almost as much racket as Boss Woman does
when she practises her tin whistle tunes and THAT
is a racket. The canaries seem to like their new home here
and now they have a nice big cage to live in (unlike their
old one) they have more room to fly about. They seem to
like the Brocolli that Boss Woman gave them as well. I would
just like to send a big licky kiss (Staffie style) to a
very nice lady called Teresa who sent me £5 sponsorship
money for when I do the long walk in May. Plenty of people
always say they will sponsor me for my long walks, but not
everyone actually sends the money. So, thank you very much
Teresa. Boss Woman is going to be speaking on the local
radio next Saturday, telling everyone about the walk we
are doing. Cool ~ even more people will know how clever
I am then. Polly is such a show off.
Boss Woman said we have not to bark too loud in case we
frighten the birds. Well, what about all the noise the birds
make then? She never tells them off.

Wednesday
10th February |
We
had a lovely walk on the coast path up to Dunnottar Castle
today. Boss Woman said that it was here where Mel Gibson
had filmed HAMLET. Well, I don't know who Hamlet was or
who Mel Gibson is, but there sure was a load of rabbits
to chase. Me and Amber chased the rabbits right over the
edge of the cliff. For some strange reason Boss Woman didn't
like us going over the edge. She can be really paranoid
sometimes. She should know by now that me and Amber are
like mountain goats and can go over the steepest of cliffs
without falling down. Boss Woman was muttering all the way
back about how she wasn't going to go over the edge to rescue
us and she would get herself a cute puppy next time that
would have better recall and behave itself. A
really nice old lady was talking to me and Polly, in Stonehaven.
She was pushing a zimmer frame thing and when she lifted
the lid, it was FULL of doggie biscuits. She gave me and
Polly some. She said she buys them to give to all the dogs
she meets on her walks. She was really impressed and laughed
a lot when Boss Woman got us to do some tricks like 'turn',
'sit', 'paw' and 'rollover' for her. She gave us some more
biscuits for doing the tricks.

Tuesday
2nd February |
When we went in the Forest last Sunday, there was a Yellow
Labrador that was being chased by his Boss Man. Apparently
he had pinched his Boss Man's glove and wouldn't give it
back and the Boss Man was getting really annoyed.
Well, I joined in the chase because I like pinching gloves
as well. I chased the Labrador all over but I couldn't catch
it either, but it was really good fun chasing around. Boss
Woman told the man, that if he had taught his dog the LEAVE
command, then he wouldn't have had a problem. Today
in the Forest, me and Polly were running towards Boss Woman
and it was so slippy that we couldn't stop. Polly slipped
right past Boss Woman on the ice and I slipped straight
into Boss Woman's leg and made her fall on the floor. It
was okay though, because when she was laid on the floor
covered in snow, me and Polly gave her big licky kisses,
which for some reason she didn't seem to like. I think she
has a bruise on her leg now.

Friday
29th January |
Lots
more snow in the fields today, which was good to roll about
in. Boss Woman made us wear our stupid fleeces because she
said it was too cold to go out without a coat. Well, for
heavens sake, I have a coat already, a black and white one.
I ran under a barbed wire fence last week and my new fleece
has now got a hole in. Boss Woman said I am just so clumsy.
Well what does she expect ? That's what us dogs do ~ roll
about, jump over fences, go under fences. It serves her
right for making me wear it. Someone has read my dog blog
and wants to sponsor me for doing the walk in May. They
call her Terese, she is the Boss Woman of Inca. Well, that
is very nice of Terese, and me and Boss Woman would like
to say thankyou very much. Ted was
a BIG nuisance in the field today. He just would not stop
jumping all over me and he kept sniffing me as well. Boss
Woman said he is going for an operation soon so he can't
make any babies. Good. I think just ONE Ted is enough for
this world, without having any more running about.
|
Friday
15th January |
All
the snow has gone now, which is a pity because me and Amber
liked it. Boss Woman has put a picture of Amber on picture
of the week, to show how much we DO like it. The nasty black
cat over the road has been fighting with our old cat Gnipper.
Poor Gnipper is in a right state. All her fur is pulled
out, she is limping and she has a big lump on her back.
If me and Amber see the black cat, we will chase it. See
how it likes that! We went with Ted
the Ned down the field today. He is very naughty and keeps
jumping all over me and biting my face. When I growl at
him and bowl him over, then he licks my face. Yuk!
