Crikey!
We went down the fields today to walk on the Thames path
and it is TOTALLY flooded. The field where the cows usually
are and where me and my friend Amber go running about, is
now full of water to a depth of 3 ft. 2 women were canoeing
around where the field should be. We will have to just go
walking in the woods for a week or 2 until the water goes
down. Polly went swimming in the water
but I just went paddling, I didn't want to get eaten by
anything that might have been lurking under the water. |
Wednesday
15th January |
I
do wish strange black Labradors wouldn't come running up
to my Boss Woman and lean against her for a cuddle. She
is MY Boss Woman and random dogs in the woods have to learn
that any cuddles going are for me and my friend Amber ONLY |
Friday
14th February |
Yes, thankyou very much
to the halfwit man driving the PANGBOURNE GARAGE truck
at 13.35 today, that went speeding past us so quick (totally
ignoring the fact it is a 30 mph limit) that the water
from the road sheeted over us and wet us all through.
For some peculiar reason, known only to the moronic dopey
looking driver, he seemed to find it highly amusing .
Some people are so very brave behind
the wheel of a vehicle. Cowardly horrible dopey faced
twerp he was.

Big
Guys Birthday today. No cake in sight though. We walked
on the Thames path today, seeing as most of the flooding
has subsided. A woman was laughing at me and she said I
was the first ever dog IN THE WHOLE WORLD that she had ever
seen able to carefully walk across a cattle grid. I
always fall in. |
Monday
31st March |
Good
result today. Boss Woman picked us up about 50 tennis balls
that were advertised in Freecycle. They should keep me going
for a month or two. I found a golf ball on our walk yesterday
and by the time we got home, I had killed it stone dead
~ totally destroyed, chewed to bits by my very very strong
jaws. |
Friday
4th April |
Had
a beautiful (but very very long) 30.2 km. walk over to historic
Uffington Castle today. The weather was really nice and
cool, not too sunny, so it was perfect for a long walk.
Luckily Boss Woman took plenty of water for us to drink
because we did not pass one single stream or water point
anywhere on the whole walk. Big Guy met us at Uffington
Castle and took us back to the start of the walk where Boss
Woman had left her car, calling in at the Fox and Hounds
Pub in Uffington for Cheeseburger and Chips (all I got was
a bit of burger) and then back home for my tea (Pilchards).
Me and Polly were soooo tired, but we still had enough energy
left near the end of the walk to chase rabbits. |
Saturday
5th April |
Short
walk in the woods today as we are a bit stiff from the marathon
walk yesterday. |
Tuesday
15th April |
I
barked and barked at the patio for Boss Woman to let me
out, then I chased a FOX out of the garden that was sniffing
around our chicken run. I had a stand off with it for 4
seconds, then it ran off, with me in hot pursuit. Boss Woman
can't understand how I knew it was there, because when I
started barking I was upstairs on and couldn't possibly
see it. SMELL. Even though I was inside the house and couldn't
see it, I could definitely smell it. Boss Woman thinks I
am a very very good girl and said I had done a good job. |
Monday
28th April |
Today
in the woods, there was a very weird guy walking with his
tan coloured sort of dog. I tell you, he did look a quite
dodgy. Well I take the responsibility of looking after my
Boss Woman VERY seriously and while he was walking past,
I stayed right at the side of Boss Woman. I kept my head
down and I was so close to her leg that any slight movement
and I would have known about it ~ a bit like walking to
heel only closer. Job done ... she is safe .. |
Wednesday
30th April |
Crikey,
it was raining so hard on our walk today that it was like
walking under a waterfall. The thunder was so LOUD that
me and Amber kept looking at the sky and wondering where
the noise was coming from. Boss Woman
got so wet, the water was running down her tracky bottoms
and into her walking boots. |
Thursday
29th June |
Today
I saved the life of Otis the Boxer. We were walking
on the Thames path and we saw 4 people with 2 dogs. One
a Boxer (Otis) and other a big black fuzzy thing. One guy
chucks 2 balls in the water (one for each dog). The black
fuzzy thing wouldn't go in the water so Otis the Boxer jumped
in the water and got a ball in his mouth and then tried
to get the other ball in his mouth. Trouble was he couldn't
do it and every time he tried, he pushed it with his nose
and the ball (and Otis) got further and further out in the
river and half way across. Had he reached the other side,
obviously he would have chased the Llamas in the field there,
never to be seen again. The owner was jumping up and down
like an idiot and shouting OTIS COME BACK, OTIS BAD DOG,
OTIS LEAVE, OOOOOOOOTIS. None of which worked of course
and Otis just ignored him. So Boss Woman calmly said to
me "Polly, fetch the ball" so me being a good
well behaved girl (nothing to do with the fact that I am
ball obsessed ) jumped in, swam up to Otis and retrieved
the spare ball from in front of Otis's nose. So then Otis,
because I had now the spare ball, followed me out of the
water. BUT then the owner tried to get the ball off me.
I wouldn't let him have it, even though he tried to pull
it out of my mouth (my mouth was firmly clamped over the
ball) I would not let go. Boss Woman said noooooooooooooo
the ball belongs to her, Polly saved the life of your dog
and the ball is her reward. You know,
the very ungrateful owner never even said thankyou for saving
the life of his dog. |
Friday
29th August |
I
had some superb pictures taken of me chasing a tennis ball
UNDER the water. I love the water and, according to Boss
Woman, obsessed with the tennis ball so it made a good combination
for a photo. It was great fun and I loved doing it. |
Sunday
31st August |
Stayed
at a very comfortable cottage near Fowey with Boss Woman,
and Big Guy joined us for the weekend. We got to eat our
breakfast every morning on the nice patio in the garden,
overlooking the fields. One day we had a lovely walk down
to Polkerris Beach (dogs not allowed on this beach) and
shared Boss Woman and Big Guy's lunch at a beach cafe. We
spent the week doing some nice long walks, running on the
(dog friendly) beaches and we went to Lands End. So, now
me and Amber have been officially from Lands End to John'O'Groats. |
Saturday
13th September |
Well
I have been really good today, helping Boss Woman with the
gardening. She had some under developed squash so she picked
me one and threw it for me like a ball. I liked it so much
that when she wasn't looking I went back and picked myself
another one ... and then another one ... I got 4 more altogether
Not sure why she got cross with me? |
Sunday
2nd November |
Really
angry and scared last night with all the fireworks going
off. They were so loud and lighting up the sky with scary
lights, that I just wanted to run at them and get them to
stop. I kept growling and barking really loudly to get them
to stop, but it didn't work. Boss Woman calmed me down and
told me that it was okay and nothing to worry about. |
Sunday
9th November |
I
am not normally scared of fireworks, but I was so terrified
last night with all the loud explosions and the sky lighting
up, that I ran straight up to Boss Woman and jumped on her
knee. I was shaking life a leaf with terror. Boss Woman
hugged me and told me there was nothing to be scared of.
I hope there are no more tonight. |
Monday
10th November |
Well
when Boss Woman threw something in the river, I just assumed
I was supposed to retrieve it, like I normally do. I didn't
know that it was bread for the geese and that I wasn't supposed
to swim after it and fetch it back.
We ate some of it as well ..
